Big things are happening at Blue Grass Church!
On Sunday, April 23rd we invited kids, young and young-at-heart, to stick around after worship to fly kites and enjoy a cookout at our Main Campus. The kites were free, and the proceeds from the food will support our upcoming mission trip to Guatemala in the fall. It was a beautiful, fun-filled day with perfect weather and just the right amount of wind. Thanks to everyone for joining in the fun!
Youth Group Serving at the Evansville Christian Life Center
A group of youth and adults took a day during Spring Break to participate in a Spring Break Service Project! They helped serve meals, sort clothing and food items, and clean floors. We’re very proud of our youth group for making a difference in the community!
Small Groups In Service
We are so proud of our ‘Come Join Us’ Sunday School Class, led by Jonelle Broshears! Each month, this group takes a collection to use for missions projects. Recently, they’ve decided to collect funds to help pay for school lunches when kids can’t afford them. To date, they estimate they’ve provided over 1600 meals for local students!
Carol Riggs’ group that meets as part of the Friday Women’s Fellowship has also been hard at work serving the community. Each Friday, they come to the church with sewing machines in tow to make bibs for use at the Good Samaritan Home. Their goal is to make 120 bibs in total!
It’s great to see our small groups living out the mission of Christ in the world!
Welcoming Bishop Trimble!
On Saturday, March 18th we had the privilege of welcoming Bishop Julius Trimble to Blue Grass Church as he toured our campus, and spoke with laity and clergy from the Southwest District of the United Methodist Church in Indiana.
“Unselfie” – The Children’s Spring Musical
In each of our worship services on Sunday, March 19th, our BG Kids Children’s Choir taught the congregation to “share yourself, not your selfie” in our first Spring Children’s Musical. They did a great job calling the congregation to a missional and giving mindset as we learned to love our neighbors. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported this amazing show!
