Big Things Are Happening

Big things are happening at Blue Grass Church!

Vacation Bible eXperience Recap – Why We Do What We Do
We had a tremendous week during our VBX (June 5th-9th). We had  300 kids registered with more than 80 volunteers who served to make it an absolutely fantastic week. More than 20 children made a decision to accept Christ as their personal Savior! That is living out our vision big time! We did a lot of seeking and reaching kids for Christ. We join heaven in celebrating their new life in Christ.

And in addition to that great news, the kids raised $4,000 for our Misphael Well fund. Wow! That’s enough to build a clean water will in Nigeria that will save lives; hopefully for generations!

On top of all that, the VBX kids challenged the congregation to match their giving. We’re not quite there yet, with the congregation having given $1,894.39 so far, but there’s still time! You can give online at HERE, or Sundays in worship through the end of June. Let’s keep the momentum going and show the love of Christ to the world in a powerful way!

These kinds of results happen when we commit our ministries to prayer, when we have excellent leadership and volunteers in place, and when the whole congregation supports the ministry of the church through their generous giving. We’d like to extend a big thank you to our Blue Grass family for making a huge impact in our world and in the lives of so many children for the sake of Christ.

Celebrating Our Graduates!
On Sunday, May 21st we took some time to recognize the accomplishments of our graduates. Check out the video below, and join us as we cheer them on to the next great thing God has in store for them!

Saturday of Service
On Saturday, April 29th we were able to partner with local organizations in the great work they’re doing in the community. The rain let up a bit, and we were able to landscape, clean, sort donations, scrapbook, and provide meals as planned! Thanks to all of the organizations that are working day in and day out to meet real needs in the Tri-State, and thanks to all of our volunteers for giving of your time and talents to serve others!

Small Groups In Service
We are so proud of our ‘Come Join Us’ Sunday School Class, led by Jonelle Broshears! Each month, this group takes a collection to use for missions projects. Recently, they’ve decided to collect funds to help pay for school lunches when kids can’t afford them. To date, they estimate they’ve provided over 1600 meals for local students!

Carol Riggs’ group that meets as part of the Friday Women’s Fellowship has also been hard at work serving the community. Each Friday, they come to the church with sewing machines in tow to make bibs for use at the Good Samaritan Home. Their goal is to make 120 bibs in total!

It’s great to see our small groups living out the mission of Christ in the world!
