Hoops For The Hungry

Hoops For The Hungry

On Saturday, January 30th, a group of area high school students (led by our own Caleb Heiman and John Ohmberger,) will be shooting free throws to raise money for Haitian Earthquake relief.  Their goal is to make 1,000 free throws, and raise $1,000.00.
The team is asking for doantions of at least a penny per made free throw.  You can make your donation to this effort by clicking on the button below.

These students will combine the money they raise with Blue Grass Church for the church's upcoming Feed My Starving Children packing event on February 5th, 6th and 7th.  You can learn more about that event and Feed My Starving Children in the article right below.

Volunteers Make Packing Event A Huge Success!

Blue Grass church hosted a Feed My Starving Children food packing event February 5th thru 7th.  During that time, over 1,000 volunteers packed 206,712 meals ensuring that 566 Haitian children will be fed for one year.

A big thank you goes out to Amy Wolf for her outstanding leadership in this event.
(Click on her name to tell her
"Thanks!" on her Facebook page!)

Our gratitude as well to Veolia Waste Services (for use of a recycling container), ProLift (for use of a forklift), Banner Truck (for logistics), and the Kingmen's Event Facility (for overflow parking.)

Monetary donations are still being accepted to cover the costs of the meals.
(Each meal cost only seventeen cents.) The smallest donation can make the biggest difference for those in need.

Celebrate Recovery

A recovery program based on the Beatitudes

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship
and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through
the eight recovery principles found in the Beatitudes
and Christ-centered 12 Steps.

This experience allows us to be changed.  We open the
door by sharing our experiences, victories and hopes
with one another.  In addition, we become willing to
accept God’s grace in solving our life problems.

If you are interestied in pursuing freedom from your hurts,
hang-ups and habits, there will be an open house on
October 20th from 6:30 p.m. to 8p.m. at the House of Hope.
