Do Good This Holiday Season

There are always a lot of ways to do good things in our community during the holidays. Here are some things you can do to show the love of Christ!

Find something that looks interesting and reach out to the organization to get involved!

United Methodist Youth Home
Call or email Sami Etienne at 812-479-7535 for more info

-Provide pizzas and/or stocking stuffers for our Day Treatment Christmas Party (about 20 kids, we have a list of stocking stuffer ideas)

-Gift wrapping presents Monday December 18th (2 shifts to choose from 10-12 or 1-3)

-Furnish a bedroom(s) for the New Boys Home.  We’ll soon have 8 rooms in need of new bedding sets, pillows, lamps, comforters, mirrors, and more.  It would be great to have as many of these ready as possible so the boys can be good to go when the new dorm is complete

-Gift Baskets- lufa’s Tresemme shampoo and conditioner, cantu shampoo and conditioner, brushes, combs, picks, body wash, tooth brush, toothpaste, make up wipes

-Gift cards are always a blessing too, as well as any other gifts to help make the season sweeter

Tri-State Food Bank
Go HERE for a full list of current needs and to register as a volunteer

-Christmas Giveaway on Dec. 15 & 16 – Help distribute food to individuals at the food bank. They need 42 more people

SWIRCA
Stop by SWIRCA offices or call Kim Morehead at 812-492-7462
-Provide a gift for a senior citizen from the Angel Tree at the SWIRCA Activity Center (16 W Virginia St, Evansville, IN 47710)

-SWIRCA is also a division of Meals on Wheels, and they have plans in the near future to implement volunteer home delivery routes in Evansville. This would take about 16 people total so everyone would work one day delivering meals.

Ronald McDonald House
-Get together with friends, family, or your small group to provide a meal to those staying at the Ronald McDonald House over the holidays. As families are caring for their kids in the hospital, it helps to not have to think about things like food. Go HERE to sign up to provide a meal!

-Volunteer as a group or individual to do work around the Ronald McDonald House facility. Go HERE to find out more about getting involved!
