‘Stepping Up: A Journey Through the Psalms of Ascent’ is a study starting Wednesday, January 10th from 6:30 to 8pm that will guide women, through the teaching of Beth Moore, in a study of Psalms 120-134.
Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the LORD and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt, hope, and joy, these fifteen psalms model how we can voice our own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available and ready to hear us.
Explore the major feasts of Israel and journey with other women through this seven session study. Themes of unity, joy, gratitude, redemption, repentance, the power of blessings, facing ridicule, and more will be explored in detail. Modern-day believers in Jesus Christ can learn much from these treasured psalms in their journey toward greater intimacy with God.
Each week’s material includes five daily lessons, each requiring about 30-45 minutes to read and respond to the written activities. On Wednesday evening, we’ll gather together for discussion and to watch a teaching video from Beth Moore on that week’s material.
Beth Boling and Mindy Humphrey will lead this study. Member books can be purchase locally at The Vineyard Bookstore or online at Lifeway.com. Childcare is not provided.
